We get so many questions about shipping puppies we have decided to add a page to the site.
With gas prices as high as they are right now, if you live more than 2 states away it is less expensive to fly your puppy to you, than to drive.
Included in the cost of your puppy you get a micro chip in your puppy. There is no additional fee for this service.
In the fee for shipping you not only get the delta ticket to fly your puppy as close to first class as possible, but
we provide your puppy with a very nice crate for the trip to you. This crate is usually more than large enough to hold your
puppy for the first 6 months of life. So, if you are crate training your puppy you are well on your way.
We also provide a crate training instruction manual.

Once we know that you have decided to fly your puppy we do several things.... it is a step by step process
that is vital in order to ship a puppy safely.
First, we contact Delta Cargo Pet Program, we get a list of available times and temperatures to fly your puppy.
We will then,
\ contact you with this information. Once you have selected a flight we then "book the flight".
Once the flight is "booked" we provide you a ticket number, time of arrival, and a flight number, as well as
information as to where to pick your puppy up at, at your chosen airport.
We will then require that you pay the shipping fee. We do not require the shipping money until you have
approved the flight and the flight is "booked".
Once we have gotten payment for the shipping we take your puppy to the vet for a special set of health papers
required to fly living animals. Once all is checked out we will then send you a note or call you telling you all is good.
When the day arrives to ship your puppy we wash and dry the puppy, make sure his ears are shiny and his teeth are
brushed. Puppy is fed and watered and taken to potty before the trip to the airport. We use Louisville Kentucky airport so the trip
is about an hour or so. Puppy goes to the airport and after all the paperwork to ship is complete ( and there is a lot of paperwork )
We place the puppy in the crate to be loaded onto the plane.
Once we know the puppy is safe on the plane we will e mail or call you ( whichever you have requested ) just to let you know puppy is on the way.
At this age ( age 8-10 weeks ) they usually sleep the entire way since they have ate, drank , went potty, and had a bath etc... this is exhausting to a little guy.
When they wake up there he is in the airport in your city.
You will have been given directions in an e mail and asked to print them.
The directions will state that you are to arrive 40 min. early to find the pick up location of Delta at your chosen airport. You will be reminded to have
your drivers license. The airport will not release your new puppy to you unless you have a photo ID, that matches the ticket.
Once you have given them the ticket number and presented them with your photo ID, well then there you go...
they will hand over your new bundle of joy.

Now this is the fun part, open the door and pet your puppy and then get him out of there. Hold him close and rub his ears while his nose is
near your neck. This is important for bonding. He will forever remember your scent and that you rescued him from the crate.
Remember, we do not crate our puppies on our farm. Until puppies are shipped they have never been in a crate, so pulling them from the crate is a wonderful experience
for them. I usually ask people to take the puppy to the airport bath room and see if they are thirsty, but now it is your puppy... you can do what you think is best
at this point. Either way, we have socialized your puppy, cleaned your puppy, made sure it is a healthy puppy so you are good to go.
We do ask that you send us an e mail, text or call us to let us know that you have your new friend and that it is safe and sound.
I love this part, becuase people tell me what a great job I have done. I seriously love this part!
One thing to mention, your puppy will not have been alone ever. We have several dogs on the farm, and they have been handled a lot.
Your new puppy will expect that you will want to play with him, and rub his belly and ears.
For this reason if you have brought a buddy with you to the airport that can drive, then let them drive!
You hold you puppy in the back seat and love him up!
Once you get home, your puppy may be hungry. We have been feeding your puppy a combination of
Puppy Chow Healthy Bites, and Science Diet Small Bits.
Remember you can call us with ANY questions ANYTIME!
